In response to the pandemic, health and care organisations in Greater Manchester created the GM Care Record bringing together essential health and care information for the city-region’s 3m residents. Bringing patient information together in one place gives health and social care professionals access to your full picture of care which allows them to make quicker, safer clinical decisions.
New functionality has been recently implemented which allows cancer genomic test results from regional genomic laboratories to be securely shared through GMCR, making them accessible to authorised healthcare professionals across the Greater Manchester Integrated Care System (ICS).
The genomic results feed supports:
• Faster access to important clinical information
• Improved patient safety
• Better coordination of care across organisations
• Reduced duplication of genomic testing
• More informed clinical decision-making
The feed has been developed to support healthcare professionals across the patient pathway, to access vital patient information, promoting patient safety, care coordination, and informed decision-making across various care settings.
