We are pleased to share a series of educational genetics resources developed through the GENE project, co-designed with members of the British Pakistani community to improve understanding of genetics and genetic testing.

The resources include a collection of short videos and animations that explain key aspects of the genetics journey in a clear and accessible way. Topics include:

  • Understanding genetics and genetic testing
  • What happens during genetic appointments
  • Receiving and understanding test results
  • Mock clinical encounters to support patient understanding
  • Animations explaining important genetic concepts

Importantly, all resources are available in both English and Urdu, helping to support accessibility for patients, families, counsellors, and clinicians working with diverse communities.

These materials were created to help improve awareness, communication, and confidence when engaging with genetics services, and we hope they will support both healthcare professionals and the communities they serve.

The full collection includes approximately 7–8 videos hosted privately on YouTube and available for educational use and dissemination.

We welcome opportunities to collaboratively promote and raise awareness of these resources so they can continue to benefit clinicians, counsellors, patients, and families.
