Pharmacogenomics in Childhood Asthma webinar hosted by the NHS Pharmacogenomics and Medicines Optimisation Network of Excellence.

Event Description

Sent upon behalf of Somnath Mukhopadhyay and Professor William Newman

We are delighted to invite you to an upcoming webinar on Pharmacogenomics in Childhood Asthma, hosted by the NHS Pharmacogenomics and Medicines Optimisation Network of Excellence.

This session will explore how advances in pharmacogenomics (PGx) could transform the way we manage childhood asthma across the NHS, taking time to consider whether the emerging evidence is sufficient to support a national roll-out, or if further research is needed before widespread implementation.

Drawing on insights from the PACT study  this webinar will bring together leading voices in paediatrics, respiratory care, and genomics to discuss:

  • The current evidence base for pharmacogenomic-guided prescribing in childhood asthma.
  • Potential impact on prescribing practice, patient outcomes, and medicines optimisation.
  • Opportunities and challenges for national implementation within the NHS.
  • The role of national networks, clinicians, and policy leaders in shaping next steps.

This webinar is particularly relevant for:

  • GPs, Paediatric respiratory consultants and paediatricians.
  • Regional and national respiratory teams, primary care networks and NIHR aligned centres.
  • National clinical leaders in prescribing and primary care.

All interested parties are welcomed to attend as your expertise and experience will be invaluable in informing the discussion about how we take this important work forward.
