GeNotes (genomic notes for clinicians) is a vital resource, designed to support healthcare professionals in making the right genomics decisions, at each stage of a clinical pathway. It provides educational information that can be accessed, for example, during patient consultations, along with links to bite-sized further learning.
The web-based resource has been designed to support clinicians in accessing genomic testing for their patients. In the context of healthcare, genomics is the study of a person’s genetic material to achieve a diagnosis or inform treatment and management.
Genomic testing is being used in the NHS for cancer and rare and infectious diseases and can lead to answers for patients where previously there were none. From a pharmacogenomics perspective, we expect to see the availability of testing grow significantly in the coming years. As the testing landscape develops, so will these resources.

The In the Clinic section provides short clinical scenarios designed to give clinicians the information they need quickly before or during a patient appointment.
