Our Clinical Director Professor Bill Newman will be speaking about the PALOH-D genomic study on the final day of the forthcoming three-day CPIC-PGRN 2022 meeting (10 May 2022 to 12 May 2022), being held at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, in the Rocky Mountain region.
Bill will be presenting on the PALOH-D study and the implementation of a revolutionary point of care pharmacogenomic test within neonatal units across the North West, to prevent antibiotic-associated hearing loss in babies.
The Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC) is an international consortium dedicated to facilitating the use of pharmacogenetic tests for patient care and the meeting will focus on strategies for successful implementation of CPIC guidelines into clinical practice, including practical considerations for choosing genetic testing platforms and clinical labs, reporting genetic results to patient and clinicians, and implementer perspectives on navigating the electronic health record for reporting pharmacogenetic results.
The mission of the Pharmacogenomics Global Research Network (PGRN) is to focus and lead research in precision medicine for the discovery and translation of genomic variation influencing therapeutic and adverse drug effects.
